Upgrade from w7 to w10 performance issues.

My brother in law gave me a 2012 HP Pavilion g7 1310us that originally came with w7. I upgraded to w10 and had poblems with some of the hardware including the card reader and HDMI port. Neither worked, but I managed to find drivers to make them work after much searching. The HDMI still has an issue in that every time I reboot the computer, I have to go to device manager and disable the driver and then reenable it to get it to work. Also, the computer has a slow performance issue. Being that I just installed w10, I have not tried a repair of any kind, which will remove all of my apps. Is there anyone who might have some ideas about how to fix these issues without me having to reset or reinstall?

HI the HP you have came with a Twin-core 4 thread i3 i3-2350M which at that time was almost bottom entry level, it was never fast upgrading to W8 was about as much as it could be asked to run with any efficiency, so do not expect any speed out of W10, and at 12 yrs old you will have some component problems.
The machine is however an excellent candidate for running one of the many latest light weight or medium weight Linux operating systems
