What's Up with LG Smart Phones?

Now that LG officially closed its smart phone division, is it safe to buy the V60? Is there a way to get android updates even if LG doesn't provide them automatically?

I thinks they are done now..... Don't see any new smartphone coming from LG, plus not firmware updates either on devices.......
