Why doesn't Google include a "download video" feature?

There must be a reason why you can download pictures yet you cannot download videos unless you use some application. Why is that?

Rodion15 this should explain why you won't be downloading videos within the chrome browsers.

There other tools and illegal ways to get them *but its not a great idea* unless the uploader-creator gives you permission.
