Windows Vista trouble

I recently upgraded my computer from XP to windows vista. Now every page on my monitor appears too large. the DPi is set correctly at 96. I have tried all the monitor options, tried upgrading my drivers. it worked perfectly before with xP. i have a 17" .flat panel.
