I run a small business and recently we hired a new employee. I was setting up a computer for him that was working just fine a few months ago and now won't connect to the internet!!
It runs Windows XP Home, IE7 and Firefox (the latest).
It is NOT the network card.
I DO NOT have the restore CD's
When I run the troubleshooter I get this error:
Error attempting to validate the Winsock base providers: 2
Not all base service provider entries could be found in the winsock catalog. A reset is needed.
&
FTP (Passive): Error 12029 connecting to ftp(dot)microsoft(dot)com: A connection with the server could not be established.
FTP (Active): Error 12029 connecting to ftp(dot)microsoft(dot)com: A connection with the server could not be established.
HTTP: Error 12029 connecting to http:www(dot)microsoft(dot)com: A connection with the server could not be established.

Please help! I need to fix this computer for our new employee!!!
