trouble removing spy/adware

I was cleaning up my friends computer with SpySweeper, Ad-Aware, Spybot, HijackThis, and Norton Antivirus. After running the three spyware programs in safe mode and deleting hundreds of traces of spy/adware, suddenly the Belkin 54g Wireless notebook card stopped working. The Belkin Utility does not see any available wireless networks. Comp does, however, connect to the internet without a problem on a hard line to the same wireless router. What could I have done to the wireless network? I tried reinstalling the drivers for the wireless card but that didn't help. There is power to the card, the computer recognizes that it is there, but there is no available wireless network to connect to (the laptop is only a few feet from the router).

I have also attached my HijackThis Log file...there are 2 entries about a proxy server. Could this have anything to do with it? (I have the internet connections set up to automatically detect proxy server)

Laptop Specs:
HP Pavillion

Windows ME

I have seen a few of these programs cause problems with internet when they remove certain files. That is why you run them one at a time and check to make sure everything is working properly before moving onto the next one.

The only thing I can recommend is to go back in those programs and reinstate the files they removed, until you figure out which one screwed something up.
