Florida state Senator, Alex Diaz de la Portilla has introduced bill SB492, that closely resembles the one that California's Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger recently signed into law. If this bill passes it can open the door for many other states to begin drafting laws that say minors may not purchase video games. It is hard to tell whether this law will actually 'protect' children, or try make people forget the multiple ethics violations that Diaz de la Portilla has been accused of recently.
