Linksys has announced that it is to launch products in the pre-802.11n space, including a broadband router and wireless notebook adapter. The Wireless-N Broadband Router (WRT300N) and Wireless-N Notebook Adapter (WPC300N) are priced at $149.99 and $119.99, respectively. Both products are based on the 802.11n specification, however until the standard is approved, no "pre-802.11n" product can be considered interoperable with any other product from another manufacturer, except when using legacy 802.11 modes.
