OCZ Technology is well known for its enthusiast-oriented memory products, however this week they unveiled their plans to introduce a new line of gaming peripherals, the first of which is the OCZ Equalizer Laser mouse. Much like gaming mice offerings from Logitech, the Equalizer comes with six sensitivity levels ranging from 400 to 2500 DPI, plus a LED color indicator for each setting. OCZ also mentions in the release a "Triple Threat" button, "gamers can fire three times with just one click," although it's still unclear if this is done in hardware or through the mouse drivers.

"OCZ's goal is to constantly develop new cutting edge solutions that make use of the latest technology to offer a superior user experience whether it is editing CAD files or playing the latest games," said Alex Mei, VP of Marketing, OCZ Technology. "OCZ has been a leader in gaming components for many years, and we are excited about our expansion into peripherals with the introduction of the new Equalizer gaming mouse which is armed with sophisticated features and superior performance to deliver a premium gaming experience to consumers."

The Equalizer Laser Mouse will be available in both desktop and a mobile versions in the coming weeks. No pricing information was included on the announcement but we suspect it will undercut similar wired models from Razer and Logitech.
