CNET has a new Security Bites podcast up regarding some interesting security related news that has happened this week. Last week, we heard about a flaw being discovered to hack into a MacBook netting one clever hacker a $10,000 bounty. As more information on that exploit was revealed, it turned out that the flaw is within QuickTime, not Safari. Now we learn that the flaw is cross-platform. Any machine running either MacOS X or Windows, using Safari, Firefox or Internet Explorer in conjunction with QuickTime media player is at risk. Considering the highly critical rating the flaw received, this could pose a potential problem. If you want to know more about this particular flaw, and information on the recent Office 2003 security upgrade, there's a decent podcast covering it all. The downloadable mp3 seems to be broken at the time of this writing, but it's a good listen.
