Osama bin Laden's hideout has been ported to Counter Strike: Source. The free map of the complex in Abottabad, Pakistan is called fy_abbottabad and is available as a 1.41MB download here. We're honestly surprised it took this long for a map like this one to be created with the Source SDK (although some commenters are yelling "too soon!").

Currently, the creation is a general purpose multiplayer map based on the known dimensions of bin Laden's compound. The map's creator, who goes by the name of Fletch, says it may one day be used as a base for a bomb or hostage map. Fletch also notes that he will add a 3D skybox when and if he has the time.

The death of Osama bin Laden on May 2, 2011, courtesy of the US Navy SEAL Team Six, is bound to spawn (pun intended) many game maps, mods, and customizations. The first one was released over the weekend: FPS video game recreates mission to kill Osama bin Laden.

We're not going to let you know about every single product that gets a bin Laden update or tweak, but the size of the Counter Strike franchise is just too massive to ignore. We would not be surprised if the map becomes very popular given its roots, but that's merely our opinion without having played it. If you're going to give it a shot (this one wasn't intended, I swear), let us know in the comments below if it's a good map in itself, or if the novelty quickly wears off.
