A slick and refined ultra-book design made too thin to have USB Type-A ports or HDMI out. These omissions are balanced by two Thunderbolt 4 ports and the best Intel mobile platform we’ve seen for a while.

All in all, the ThinkPad X1 Titanium Yoga is an interesting bet. It’s clear that Lenovo has an eye on the traits that modern business users have been asking for: stylus support, the 3:2 aspect ratio, durability, and portability, in addition to the security of the vPro platform. The Titanium Yoga is the first iteration of a line that I’m very excited to see Lenovo making, and for that I think it deserves a high score.

You will have to accept some compromises if you want the thinnest ThinkPad. The 3:2 screen is very good, but we are not sure it justifies the higher price compared to a regular ThinkPad X1 Yoga.

If you need an extremely portable device, that has a premium build, a 3:2 display, and a ton of features, the ThinkPad X1 Titanium Yoga Gen 1 might just be the laptop for you. However, you have to really consider your options out there.

As I said before, the Titanium is a ThinkPad for the most part but in its pursuit of more casual features it differentiates itself from its cousins in ways that feel excessively premium. The reduced weight is appreciated but at the sacrifice of a familiar typing experience, quicker throttling of the CPU, tiny audio (the drivers are limited in space presenting a tinny auditory experience), and flex in the chassis, the X1's tradeoffs feel better suited for a highly productive executive than a content creator, coder, or process professional.
