Benchmarks: PCmark Vantage, SiSoftware 2009

Despite struggling to keep pace with the A-DATA SH93 in previous tests, our 500GB Hitachi SimpleTough drive had no problems running PCmark Vantage, and in fact it was a fraction quicker in a few of the tests.

The Hitachi SimpleTough was also slightly faster than the A-DATA SH93 in SiSoftware Sandra 2009. The margins were small but still a contrast to the results we saw earlier on.

Overall performance was in line with what you'd expect from any USB 2.0 hard drive, though A-DATA's SH93 came on top more often than not.
