Measuring data throughput when copying to and from the 500GB Hitachi SimpleTough we found upload and download speeds to be 23.7MB/s and 29.1MB/s, respectively. Compared to the A-DATA SH93, which uses a Fujitsu hard drive, performance was down around 4MB/s for both. This was a little disappointing as it means that Hitachi's portable drive is roughly 12% slower than the A-DATA SH93.
