Encoding Performance

HandBrake fails to show any performance difference between the four Intel H55 motherboards, as they all rendered on average 39fps. Perhaps the only thing worth mentioning as a side note is that the Core i3 540 was considerably slower than the true quad-core processors in this test, with the Athlon II X4 635 and Core i5 750 both breaking 50fps.

When testing with the x264 HD Benchmark once again we found no difference in performance between the Intel H55 motherboards being tested, as they all rendered 50fps.

Finally when measuring the time it took to convert a 700MB avi file to the mpeg format we found that all four Intel H55 motherboards took over 12 minutes. The Gigabyte H55M-UD2H was slightly slower than the other three boards.
