Random Crashing, minidumps attached.

Hi,

The culprit is faulty memory. You can run memtest to stress the ram. If memtest reports the ram is faulty, ram is bad. However Memtest is not a perfect tool to test the memory as some faulty ram can pass memtest.

Suggestion
1. Check the temperature of the CPU and make sure that it is not overheat (ie temperature < 60C)
Make sure that the CPU fan works properly
2. Reseat the memory stick to another memory slot
3. Downclock the ram
4. Clean the dust inside the computer case
5. Make sure that the ram is compatible to the motherboard
6. Check the bios setting about memory timing and make sure that it is on
If it still crashes, diagnostic which memory stick is faulty
1. Take out one memory stick. If windows does not crash, the removed memory stick is faulty.
2. If you have only one memory stick, replace the ram

My cpu temps are pretty low for my stock heatsink.. with cool n quiet they are about 26c then at full load they have never gone above 44c.

I ran memtest on each individual stick, the first for 18passes and the 2nd for 4 passes. and both together for 18+ hours. No errors of course. What i noticed in memtest it said ddr400 200mhz.. does this mean 200mhz x 2??

I checked the MSI website and heres what it says:

• Supports DDR400*/DDR333/DDR266 DDR SDRAM (*Refer to MSI recommended modules)
• Note: PC3200 (DDR400) maximum 4 banks (2 double-sided) only
Due to the High Performance Memory design, motherboards or system configurations may or may not operate smoothly at the JEDEC (Joint Electron Device Engineering Council) standard settings (BIOS Default on the motherboard) such as DDR voltage, memory speeds and memory timing. Please confirm and adjust your memory setting in the BIOS accordingly for better system stability.
Example: Kingston HyperX DDR500 PC4000 operates at 2.65V, 3-4-4-8, CL=3.
For more information about specification of high performance memory modules, please check with your Memory Manufactures for more details

Corsair is not on the recommended site, but I dont think that is the problem. What is bank interleaving?

Hi,

Refer my previous post, some faulty ram can pass memtest. It seems that you do not read my post carefully.

i read it all, whats wrong with me just telling? whats with the comment?

it would be nice if you could help me instead of telling me im blind.

That's probably not gonna speed up the help process here...

Hi Des1017,

Thanks for your reply. If I offend you, it is not my intention. Do you reseat the ram or downclock the ram? You are so polite that I cannot communicate with you any more.

I am so stupid that I waste half an hour to help a person that I don't know. I am very disappointed.

you helped me and i appreciate it, i just dont understand why you think im not reading your replys when clearly i am. anyways im going to try and test my ram and see if i can figur eout which stick or dimm slot is the problem.
