The Radeon HD 3870 appears to have the edge in F.E.A.R as it was 13% faster at 1920x1200 with the AA/AF settings disabled. When adding a second graphics card, the Crossfire Radeon setup was 12% faster than the SLI cards at the same resolution.

Interestingly, turning on 4xAA/16xAF bridged the gap between these two graphics cards, as the GeForce 9600 GT came within a single frame of the Radeon HD 3870 at 1920x1200. Furthermore, the multi-GPU performance was tied at 91fps.
