OK, let's try couple of things.

1. I assume your Comodo includes an AV program and a firewall.
If true make sure Windows firewall is listed as being on.
See if IE will work afterwards.

If not....

2. Uninstall Comodo. Make sure you uninstall AV and a firewall.
Turn Windows firewall ON, restart computer and see if IE will work.

If not....

3. Reinstall Comodo, turn Windows firewall off and we'll go from there.

Ok Comodo On & Windows Firewall On... IE not working

Uninstalled Comodo & the other (2) programs it had installed, windows firewall on, re-boot....IE not working

ReInstalled Comodo, turned off windows fire wall for all types....IE not working

Next step....

Go Start>Run (Start Search in Vista/7), type in:
msconfig
Click OK (hit Enter in Vista/7).

Click on Startup tab.
Click Disable all
IMPORTANT! In case of laptop, make sure, you do NOT disable any keyboard, or touchpad entries.

Click Services tab.
Put checkmark in Hide all Microsoft services
Click Disable all.

Click OK.
Restart computer in Normal Mode.

NOTE. If you use different firewall, than Windows firewall, turn Windows firewall on, just for this test, since your regular firewall won't be running.
If you use Windows firewall, you're fine.

Same problem?

Never heard of it.

Go back to "msconfig" and reverse all changes.

Restart computer.

Download Windows Repair (All in One) from this site

Install the program then run it.

NOTE 1. In Windows Vista, 7 and 8 right click on the program, click "Run As Administrator".
NOTE 2. Disable your antivirus program before running Windows Repair.

Go to Step 2 and allow it to run CheckDisk by clicking on Do It button:

p22002979.gif

Once that is done then go to Step 3 and allow it to run System File Check by clicking on Do It button:

p22002980.gif

Go to Step 4 and under "System Restore" click on Create button:

p22002982.gif

Go to Start Repairs tab and click Start button.

Please ensure that ONLY items seen in the image below are ticked as indicated (they're all checked by default).
NOTE. Except for Windows 8 users make sure Reset Registry Permissions is checkmarked as well.
Click on box next to the Restart System when Finished.
Then click on Start.

Running Repair Under System Account

No. Your computer is clean but your Windows installation must be somehow corrupted.

Guys its time to call Lenovo for the win 7 disk set?? do you know of any program that will capture all my profile/ domain stuff before I blast this?

I don't remember if repair install even asks you for a product key.
You're not reinstalling Windows, you're repairing it.
Backup is always good but repair installation should keep your data safe.
