Adjusting record level

I am attempting to transfer old vinyl LP recordings using a USB turntable to my PC using Groove Mechanic version 2.6. The record volume levels shown in Groove Mechanic are too low and I cannot find a way to increase the record levels.
My PC has a MSI X58 Platinum motherboard with onboard Realtek Hi Definition Audio. I've tried the controls in the "Realtek Audio Control Manager" and they have no effect.

This was accomplished on my old XP machine by going thru assesories to the audio control panel - which had several slider controls, one of which controlled record volume.

Thanks for any help

I just went to the motherboard (MSI) web site and downloaded the latest version of Realtek software - there was no change to the version number. And yes, the PC is running on Vista SP1. Still canot adjust the Groove Mechanic recording level. I've contacted the Groove Mechanic support folks and they don't have a solution either.
