It seems the "Just for Russian market" HD 6750 and 6770 (rebranded 5750 and 5770) are now going worldwide.

Just a note for owners of 5750's and 5770's:
It would seem that once the 6750 and 6770 hits retail, it should be easy enough to source their BIOS's. Any interested 5750/5770 owner should be able to flash their BIOS and gain HDMI 1.4a (3-D) and UVD3 functionality that is presently lacking from the 5750/5770. A firmware update is all that seperates the 5750/5770 from 6750/6770.

I would hope that AMD's card partners would make firmware available to owners of 5750/5770, since many of these cards would have been sold with the intent of being used as dual purpose (gaming/HTPC) cards, the added HDMI 1.4a/UVD3 functionality would no doubt be very welcome

Just a note to Nvidia fanboys:
Don't go there...Just don't. Yes it's a rebrand. Word of caution... 8800GT=9800GT, 8800GS =9600GSO, 9800GTX+ = GTS250....and many more

Just a note to AMD fanboys:
Ditto.
(X1900XTX = X1950XT,X1300XT = X1650Pro, X300 = X1050, HD 5550 = HD 6390...and many more)

Do you think anybody will import it to the US as, "The Extreme M.A.D. Cold War Edition"?

It would be absolutely savage with "Die Yankee Pig Dog" written on it in Russian!

Closer to "Xtreme A.M.D. Russian Girls Want to Meet YOU Edition"

You'll have to settle for Chinese. (where XFX and most of the other AIB's assemble their cards)

The 6750 and 6770 were originally touted as Eastern Europe only cards- probably to avoid the whole rebranding PR black eye in the higher visibility markets, although I don't recall anyone other than AMD-centric sites (rather than AMD itself) making that claim. AMD obviously have no bona fide 6000 series card to take Juniper's (5750/5770) place, so I guess it's a fait accompli that the older card gets a new badge and a new coat of paint in order to combat the GTS450/GTX550/GTX460 SE.

My bad DBZ, as I rarely check this thread, so I posted this same news in the Links section.

Thanks for sharing, I assume all 57xx owners would just need a BIOS flash for crossfire compatibility with the 67xx cards? Also AnandTech brings up a good point about vendors likely milking this by releasing the cards above the prices of the 57xx series. Oh well, that is one of the downsides of re-branding for us consumers =/ .

But...but...but...:p

I think Captain will probably feel like Gandhi if he meets "Russians Girls", but I must admit, it isn't a bad thing at all ;)

captainGandhi just might thank the heavens that the Almighty didn't sanctify spring chicken along with beef.;)
