ATI's R600 appears to be a complete monster...

You will probably have to run it at 640x480 :stickout: With your video card if you put everything on max you'd probably need 640x480 to get 50FPS. Hell even my card would probably need 1024x768 to get decent FPS...
Actually, it'll run on medium-high at ~800x600 on my card.

But by then I'll be running a X1950XTX, so no problems ;)

X1950xt 230$

WOW, the X1950XT is only 230$ now. And according to benchmarks theres barely any difference between this and the X1950XTX... Soon it'll drop to <200$, which'll be awesome! (And BTW I can't find any X850XT anymore :( )

Nice specs, but let's wait for a newer, hopefully more power efficient revision ;)

I just saw somewhere that ATI's R700 should run much cooler, and be cheaper to manufacture. Hmmm, a X3950XTX :p

Wow, R600 isn't out yet and we're onto the R700... ;)

If the X2900XTX is truly and really a lot faster than the 8800/8900GTX, I'm sure lots will buy it no matter how power-hungry it was. 240W it eats I believe? Hmm... Instead of upgrading my 480W Truepower II (Antec) (because it's perfectly good and stable), I'll instead go for a dedicated graphics power supply.

I know this is an old thread, but while I was consulting it for stats about R600, I noticed that it has been brought up that the X1950XTX rivals the 8800GTS...

I was wondering where this information came from, as a single 8800GTS/GTX are over 70% better than dual X1950XTXs according to benchmarks.

The X1950 XTX may rival a 320MB Geforce 8800GTS if you use a smaller resolution like 1280x1024, because the later may be limited by the CPU.

But if you game beyond 1280x1024, and use lots of AA & AF, then the 8800 series destroy the X1900 series.
