Hi Nork, i have now put our sys spec on the first post, we had another pc here the same, other than the hard drive size, but the swap didnt really help, we still had the same problem, we havent done a re-install as its our accounts pc and its hard to get near it to work on...

im sure its something in his desktop, cause if i log in to Administrator there is no problem, so it must be something in his one!! i done a dirver verifiy with no problems, win updates etc, scandisk, memtest, swaped ram, but i just cant think what it could be!! the pagefile.sys was no joy either!! wish i could just through the dam thing out the window!!

if some one send you a PM on how to read mini dumps would you be so kind as to forward it to me?

    many thanks kelly

    Allsigns, thanks for the post.
The problem is that i know nothing about these dumps and dont even know how to read them.
I took this from your first dump, ERROR_CODE: (NTSTATUS) 0xc0000005 which, as you said is old.
    I entered that in google:
    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=ERROR_CODE: (NTSTATUS) 0xc0000005&btnG=Google Search

The only thing i can say is there is a lot of entries there to look at.
I dont know if its of any help as there is a lot to sort thru.
I have been hoping someone else would read this thread and help you as i am not able to. Short of a complete new install you have done all that i can think of, memtest, ram swap, etc, etc. The only thing i can say is it seems that the issue seems to be software related and not hardware. Perhaps a repair of windows might fix this for you? I dont think you stated what os you are using.

You might even want to consider starting a new thread. I can refrain from posting and someone may read your new thread and help you out. That may be the best help i can give you as someone looking at this might get the idea i am working on this what with it being 3 pages now, when in fact i have been of no help at all.

thanks for your help nork, you have been of help in eliminating, i do think its software to, the os is XP Pro and i tryed a repair the first time, but no joy, just upset the pc evan more, ended up with a boot error windows root\system32\hal.dll missing or corrupt! was a nightmare getting it back to normal, i now have to options to boot in to windows the old one and the newer one, both with the same problem, only the newer one i can go into windows!! ill post a new post fingers crossed

    thanks again kelly

    You're welcome.
I do think a new thread is the way to go.
Just one thing. Did you ever take out all non-necessary parts from the pc and try running with just the basics, video, ram, hard drive? As much as i do think its software related its good to get hardware out of the picture as much as possible. It is one good method of troubleshooting. Worth a shot.
If all is well then add one part back in and reboot a few times, let the system run a bit like that, if all is well then keep adding one part at a time.
Since the problem hasnt been found perhaps you might want to consider doing this. Of course, you may have already done this.
