Hi guys would appreciate your help - really struggling here

Just built a new computer with a fresh install of windows 7 64 bit ultimate and it drops ethernet connection.

Win7 64 ultimate
16 gb ram
i7 6700
gigbyte GA-B250M-DS3H motherboard

The ethernet controller is Realtek PCIe GBE famil controller

I'll be playing battlefield for example, and it'll lag badly for about 15 seconds and then be ok again for a few minutes and it just keeps doing it. I don't usually get kicked out of the game fully.

When trying to visit a website firefox will say server not found and then when I hit refesh a couple of times it'll work.

In the system tray I get a red X and it just reconnects itself automatically so asking it to diagnose the problem doesn't do anything because it fixed itself before you have a chance to click that.

The wireless internet in the house is fine as my girlfriend's laptop and our phones operate as they should.

The cable is the exact same one I used with my last build and hasn't been moved.
I have reset the router...
I have uninstalled the ethernet driver fully and reinstalled.
I have unchecked TCP/IvP6 and disabled 'receive side scaling'

Thanks in advance!
