The only thing I can think of is ATI drivers. I've uninstalled most other things since it started happening again. I won't know if the latest unisntallation thing will help for about another day (seems every other day crash happens). Hopefully I pasted stuff correctly. Sections in bold.

Please attach the minidumps via the Manage Attachments button found at the bottom the next time you go to post. You can Zip up to five in one Zip file.

We would like to read them our self because not everything is contained in what you pasted. Thanks.

With one exception all errors are 0x50 and they reported that they could not identify the faulting driver. However, the remaining minidump holds the most promise.

It is 0x000000EA: THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER
A device driver problem has caused the system to pause indefinitely (hang). Typically, this is caused by a display driver waiting for the video hardware to enter an idle state. This might indicate a hardware problem with the video adapter, or a faulty video driver.

The video driver specifically cited is ati2cqag.dll as the cause of your system crashes.

I suggest doing the following...

1. Download Driver Sweeper free version to your desktop screen and install.

2. Download the latest diver(s) for your video card but don't install them.

3. Uninstall your video card drivers and reboot your PC into Safe Mode. Run Driver Sweeper but ONLY for the video card drivers. I had someone use it on their chipset drivers! If it doesn't find any video card drivers that is quite okay; just leave all other drivers alone.

4. Reboot and install new video card drivers.

This is a fresh windows install. I figured that was the case though. ATI 10.x+ catalyst drivers have issues. Finding one that works, that's the hard part. I took about a week before installing these drivers because I tried a few others (that crashed more often).

Installed On: Friday, February 25 2011.

I'll see how long this boot stays. So far it's been over 24 hours. I removed 1 other peice of software I installed around the same time. Java.

Yeah, Java has been giving people issues as well. A couple I know simply downloaded Java 23 and no matter what they and I have tried so far we can't uninstall it and it is corrupted.

Well, that didn't take too long. Driver crashed again. No BSOD it was just plain shut down.

Anyone know a for sure stable ATI driver versions 10.x+

10.3 is not stable for longer than about 36 hours.

I am going to ask someone to look in on this who knows video cards and drivers quite well.

Thanks. Currently trying 10.7. It has had a few soft failures but they were recovered. So far no full BSOD failure.

Heard about 11.3 last night, didn't even attempt to install it. 11.2 was unstable enough to give me 3 BSOD in 1 day.

An 0x50 error but only cited an OS driver. Remind me please, when do these crashes occur?

when I'm not watching it apparently. i woke up to a rebooted desktop. even the other drivers didn't crash when i was using it, only when i left it idle.

i ended up reinstalling java last night too. maybe i should just leave that uninstalled.

I had at most 1 but that was with the 10.3 ati driver. I'm using 10.7 now and hadn't had more hard crashes (just a few times the CCC reinstated it without a reboot or interruption). So until I added Java last night it seems I had a stable vid card driver.

Java is uninstalled again at this time.

Sigh. another reboot. this one happened when I was using it. nothing out of the ordinary. I did reinstall an older ver of java. sadly didnt disable autoupdate. so lets see what this minidump has.

its still seems to be completely random on when it happens.

seems utorrent was causing it. not sure how or why. guess the new owners figure why not introduce a glitch that screws with peoples computers?

Thanks for getting back to us (and sorry I didn't see your previous post with minidumps attached). We have seen Utorrent cause issues from time to time.
