Can't Install / Uninstall anything

Hi, this is my 1st post, thanks in advance for helping.

I cant seem to install anything - I was trying to install an update for BBC iPlayer and it gave me an error, so i tried uninstalling adobe AIR which iplayer uses and i cant install that either,

Ive just also worked out i cant uninstall / install anything else.

Ive run Virus scan(nod32)
CCLeaner
Superanti Spyware
Malwarebytes.

Is XP updated to Service Pack 3? If so, try restoring XP to an earlier time, before you installed Adobe
