Click the Start button, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
The Control Panel window appears.
Double-click the System icon.
Click the Device Manager tab.
Click the plus (+) sign next to CDROM.
Double-click the CD-ROM drive model.
Click the Settings tab.
If the Auto Insert Notification checkbox is unchecked, click to check it.
there is no settings tab...
This works in Windows 98 if I remember well... couldnt find this option in my Windows XP SP2 OS.
I know that this feature can be accessed through gpedit.msc though.

thats because in windows xp sp2 you have to switch to classic view in control panel, which can be located on the left.

I use xp sp2, switching to vista very soon, it only slows fps by 2 or 3.. thats if your a gamer lol

are you sure?
cause I love classic view and that's what I've set my computer to.
.
and are you really sure it has to do anything even remotely with the way control panel is displayed?
and... does the option come on your computer?
.
btw... VISTA sux, atleast in India here. I've used it and wasnt very happy with it.
i guess i'll give it a year for it to get developed better.

well sp1 isnt coming out till next year .. And Vista is a very good o/s, you just need a good system to play it. Plus Windows vienna is coming out by the end of 2009 which i want to save money so i can make a system good enough to play it. Click here for details about vienna.
