Hi I have installed a DVD player burner in my sons computer but when we try to boot up it comes up insert Diskette,I thought maybe it is the jumper on the DVD player moved it to all positions still no joy.If I take the DVD player out the computer boots up and starts fine.I tried changing the boot order as well still wont start up.I only know a small amount of knowledge of computers so any ideas to fix this problem.Regards Martin.

Jumper and diskette? Is this an old computer w/ a disk drive? With disk drive and DVD player connected with a flat wide ribbon cable (IDE)?

The motherboard probably has a PRI IDE & 2nd IDE connection? The hard drive leave it as is in PRI IDE. Add the DVD to 2nd IDE as master. See if that works. At least that's how my Dell Dimension 8400 is set up.
