Like I said, I have no idea why that is.

Have you managed to run the hard drive diagnostic utility(Powermax) yet?

    Regards Howard :)

I have done the check for bad erros thing. As for the powermax thing it asked me to choose which drive needed scanning so I did and there was no response for ages :(

    Then what happened?

I really don`t know what else to suggest.

The whole reason for advising you to check your hard drive, was because it`s possible it may be failing.

    Regards Howard :(

Howard which drives to do I have to test cos when I put powermax floppy and reboot, it comes up with a list to choose from.
  12. howard_hopkinso Newcomer, in training Posts: 25,949   +16

You need to test your main hard drive. That`s the one with your Windows OS on it and should be the primary master.

    whats it called sorry?.

Btw, my computer suddenly shut down saying there was an error, came up with a blue screen, it did this a lot before we cleaned it as in you told me what to do and I thought the problem had gone but obviously not! :(

Shall I attach the error logs and if so where can I find them?

I`m starting to think more and more that you may have a hard drive problem. I suggest you backup your important data ASAP, just in case.

Can you give me details of the list?

Usually, the first drive in the list is your primary hard drive.

    Regards Howard :)

I told momok about 2 months ago but you were away. The site got cramped and I did my best in solving some problems. Mate I need your advice on laptops if thats ok, I need one to take with me to india, any tips?

You`ll need to checkout what voltage India uses, otherwise you might do some serious damage when you try and charge your laptop.

This might also mean, you`ll need some kind of adapter as well.

    Regards Howard :)

One more thing, my keyboard seems to have changed to an american format, how can I change it?
