Driver IRQL not less or equal message

hi guys
im a complete ***** when it comes to computers i just put this up because of desperation....
for the past 6 months ive been getting a blue screen regularly with the "Driver IRQL not less or equal message" for a while ill just restart and everythings back to normal but thrice its not been the case. my computer would jus reach the windows screen and restart again this would go on until i reinstall windows afresh.
so its happened again and i thot id try u guys before i reinstall again

i have a fujitsu siemens laptop
intel centrino processor 1.6GHz
ram 512

i dont run any games or any programmes that drain my ram

on the blue screen i noted the below maybe it maybe of help

oh yes and iastor.sys also appears on the blue screen

Confirm all your drivers are up to date from your Manufacturer's support page
Try running Memtest on your Ram

would i be able to burn the disc and run it in safe mode cos i cant get into windows proper

You cannot run it in Safe mode
It must be run from boot-up (ie no Windows running at all)

The Memtest CD is a Boot CD
