    Hi Joebot.

This is a difficult problem. This is my third times I encounte this case. Your windows crashes at nt!MiDeleteVirtualAddresses+184. Both cases have no feedback. It may be related to BIOS setting of M/B.

theberle has exactly same problem after he replace the M/B. I've send him a message to theberle and ask for the update.

As you know I am not running a hardware shop, most of the experience are from the feedback of the problem owners. Remember to tell your solution after you resolve the problem.

    Hmmm gotta love those crashes.....

Just wondered whether you'd had chance to look at that Hijackthis analysis link. Interestingly....several months ago when the crashing was at its peak i had the C:/ (a partition) reformatted and upgraded the OS to windows XP (it was Windows ME, and the crashing seemed to vanish temporarally, but now its back (initially before I discovered the auto restart I thought there was a hairline crack on the motherboard). Is this info any help?

    An infinite amount of thanx...

    Cheers...

No....that just knackered everything up...had a blue screen crash talking about graphic drivers..had to system restore it.

    Thanx anyway...

(I have other minidump file from earlier crashes that had different messages than the one in this post thread....could my problem be caused by faulty hardware?)

Maybe hardware but I cannot confirm. Your problem is difficult to find out the culprit. Attach more mnidumps here if you have.

    Hi Makieddie

After further investigation of your minidump, I believe that it is faulty ram. Reseat the memory stick to another memory slot. Clean the dust within the computer case. Make sure that the CPU does not overheat. If the problem still occurs, diagnostic which ram stick is malfunction.

    Mr CPC 2004

Thanx very, very much I will do those things. I already investigated whether its overheating, the errors can occur immediately after turning on. Its not near a radiator either, and that temp thing in the bios never says its over heating. How do I diagnostic the ram stick? I feel like I'm burdening you with my problem....but this may be light at the end of the tunnel!!

    Thanx once again...

Yours windows crashes at IRQL x'1c' and it is hardware error. 50% is CPU, 33.3% is ram and 16.6 is mothe board.

    Overclocking problems!

    Hi cpc2004,

After your affirmation, I tested both of my 512Mb DDR 333 RAM with MemTest86 and they passed the tests (many passes). I had first tried to test the RAM individually, but it would still crash.

So, I went in the BIOS and decreased the clocking to Manual instead of 2.4GHz. Since then it didn't crash. It is just weird cause it always been runnin fine at 2.4GHz when I had 768Mb of DDR 333. Now that I have 1024Mb it won't work.

Thanks tho, it gave me a better idea where the problem was originating from. And btw, the hidden ads and links create slow loading and browsing in the forums.

    Cheers,

Sounds like I'm having the same problem...

    Hi !

After reading this thread, it seems I might finally get rid of the problem that's been bothering me for a while now.

At first I encountered frequent reboots which I thought might come from an overheating problem. It happens generally during hot days and when I let the computer open things seem to improve...

But recently I've been getting a blue screen with the famous "driver_irql_not_less_or_equal" quite frequently.
    My log says :
The system event of COM+ has detected a bad return code while its internal processing. HRESULT is C0000005 from line 44 of d:\qxp_slp\com\com1x\src\events\tier1\eventsystemobj.cpp. Contact Microsoft tech support to report the error.

If anyone could help me decrypt my minidumps that would help greatly !! I could at least make some progress in troubleshooting this.

Thanks in advance for your help,

    ma
