    Struck by the BSOD

My Acer 1522 Wlmi laptop has fallen in the clutches of the BSOD. I would be very grateful for any help you are willing to provide. The eventviewer gave me the following info:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x100000d1 (0xfdac5000, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0xf7fe8b7b). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini091805-01.dmp.

    Error code 100000d1, parameter1 fa6f3000, parameter2 00000002, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 f7f66b7b.

    Thanks a lot!

    Hi lilimali,

Faulty ram is the culprit and aslo you have to check the CPU to make sure that it is overheat

    IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)
An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an
interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is usually
caused by drivers using improper addresses.
If a kernel debugger is available get the stack backtrace.

Attach 5 to 6 minidumps here. Maybe I can find out which hardware component is malfunction.

Thanks for your help and especially for your quick response ! I am gonna check this ram out. It is much easier to get rid of a problem when you know where to look. :giddy:

    BugCheck 100000D1, {74, 2, 0, edde5461}
    Probably caused by : NVTcp.sys ( NVTcp+2461 )

It is software error at NVTcp.sys.

After investigation of your minidumps, the culprit is faulty ram.

I attached the dump file. It usually occurs when trying to watch a dvd.

    Thanks for your help!

    Help me!

Hello, I found this thread while reading up on my latest plague.
I think I've figured out how you want the dumps uploaded but scream if you want it some other way.
Here they are and thanks beforehand.

    Hi Hubu,

Your WIndows' crash is weired. Definitely it is hardware problem. Most probably it is faulty M/B as most of the crashes are related to instruction misaligned. But I cannot eliminate the possibility of faulty ram.

BTW your windows patch level SP1 at 2002 which is three years behind. You had better upgrade the your windows to patch level to at least 2004 or latest patch level.

Thanks for the help man, it might help a tad with a story behind it all:
See, thing is, I bought this computer from a friend whom was moving out and had to sell it(It's about 1 year old now) and while he had it, he had no hardware-problems at all. Only thing I did since the crashes started was adding a floppy-drive to re-format(S-ATA HDD). These random crashes have been occuring ever since. I switched the motherboard, added a new fan to the graphicscard(old was bad, had to use a table-fan to keep it from not shutting down PC while gaming), new CPU-fan, new chassi. The only thing which wasn't replaced was the RAM. And they weren't failing when my friend had it.
I've been trying to use windows update but the computer decides to crash in the middle of it, so puke: , I'll try to update my SP and sorts and give you new minidumps.

Oh and yeah, I don't know if you can tell from the dumps but I also get random program crashes, some just shut down some get's the "Windows has encountered an error.." or whatever.

On a side-note: I left it on while out with some friend for about 6 hours, 2 crashes during this time and no activity. How come?

    Thanks again!

    Hi,

It is hardware problem. If you want me to confirm which hardware component is faulty. Attach 7 to 8 minidumps here.

This is my first post here, so I apologize if I miss anything obvious.

I'm having the same trouble as the original author, as well as the other folks in the thread. Blue screen of death, and "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL". What's particularly strange is that it initially happened once, then on restart my computer was extremely sluggish, with 'system' oscillating in its resource consumption in the task manager from 2 to 99% of CPU taken up. Eventually, it crashes again, and then BSOD's anew, and it repeats.

Now my computer was working fine this morning, with no difficulties, until it crashed, and now this continues to occur. I've attached 5 minidumps, which hopefully will assist in diagnosing the problems. Let me know if I should provide any other information. Thank you in advance, anyone who has advice.

Edit: I think I have some idea of what the problem may be. Upon disconnecting two of my three hard drives, the two older drives, the problem vanished. And while both drives appeared with associated and correct drive letters, one of them did not show any attributes, such as disk space. So possibly I have a hard drive failure, although why it would occur so suddenly I don't really understand.
