First build, guidance needed please

1- you'll know when you turn it on - it won't hurt to be wrong
2- yep plug it in, boot up comp, should appear under "my computer"

Difference for you lot over the pond is your kitted out for snow, here in the UK if we get 4inch the country grinds to a halt !!!!! lol, the post service told the post men and women to abandon delivering the other week yet the poor bloody paper boy managed to get out EVERY day !!!!
Really, if we only get 4 inches, I'm usually out on my motorcycle within 48 hours.

The post office situation is also a different story. I rode 30 miles from Philadelphia PA to Voorhees NJ only to be sent home by the postmaster. There were at least 8 inches down at that time, and the storm ran to over a foot.

Ask Red about the collapse of the "Metro Sack".....

Oh yeah, "Sata 0" is the right position for the OS HDD. Binary math and all that. When you only have 2 choices, zero or one, zero becomes a number.

Ask Red about the collapse of the "Metro Sack".....

Yeah the garbage bag dome collapsed from the weight of the 3' of snow, worst stadium in pro sports!
Hey Cap, I just picked up a 27" monitor, not nearly nice as your panel...but its a lot of real estate for........ummmm stuff to look at. ;)

I'll get right on that.......

Actually, I'm surprised Fox hasn't made a special about the collapse yet. I bet they'd call it, "When Windbags Attack"...... :haha:

In other sporting news, Donovan McNabb was benched by the Redskins, and the "Pride of Philly", Michael Vick, wantsa bees gittin' hisself a dawg....! (Why don't you try and think of a smiley for this, I'm stumped)?

Real Sportsmen are morally bankrupt and kill pitbulls, after making them mean by feeding them footballs laced with gunpowder.

Hahahaha i got you on resolution too ;p although i highly doubt that will make a difference given your nato controlling system matey lol

Hey back to comps for a min, i got this 1gig Geforce GT240 graphics card coming, if i were to upgrade next year to a better graphics system i cant use this card with SLI cos it dont supprt it, so i need to use Nvidia as PoserPro prefers it over ATI cards, can you lot offer a better card i can buy 2 of to make use of the SLI, i got a bridge with my MB and i would spend about £100 per card ?

Any suggestion please ?

Well ,well, well, whats the matter Vale??? got all that screen real estate and not enough GPU for it ? hmmmm? :p:haha: :)
seriously, if its in the near future the GTX 460's are tremendous in SLI, if its a way down the road, The replacement 560's will probably be a touch better, and will handle whatever you care to throw at them.

****btw , a 100 quid is still about $140.00 USD correct?

yer next year some time, early (March maybe). I just thought i am building what for me is an awesome system and the graphics card i chose probably lets it down so... in for a penny in for a pound o to speak.

May as well have a good graphics system too ?

Forgot to mention my PSU is 500watt if thats a factor Greg ? and i darent spend any more then £200 or my wife will cut something off (me) lol

That depends on what you want to do with it. You like to play with all the details up @ 1920 x 1080...er...1900 x 1200 you're going to need some horsepower yes.

Well they call for a 550w for two of them in SLI, but the more imprtant rating is the Amp rating. would be good to have 35A on the 12v Rail(s)
what make and model is your PSU?

200.00 gbp = 310.235 usd

whoa! that high again ey?

Coolermaster Silent Pro 500W Modular PSU as recomended by the sith lord but in all fairness i didnt require some fancy graphics at the time and its due tomorrow so i have ot go with the best system this PSU can offer ;)

OR !!!! just a better graphics card singulaly ? if thats a word lol of the same maximum £200 ?

well Moiz does know his PSU's,
If its this one http://fr.coolermaster.com/products/product.php?act=detail&id=4196
your good for a pair of 460's that thing has 50A on the 12v rails and will handle them easily.

For that amount I would say that a GTX 570, HD 6950-6970 would do well as a single card setup.

Mmmmm they are £140 each cheapest so might have to wait a bit to talk her round lol, could be an Xmas prezzy for next xmas though ;p guess i will live with the GT 240 for now, i dont even play games so guess i am been a little extravagant really. something to work for i think, thanks for the info though ;)
