I've just started playing Star Trek Elite Force II. It's pretty fun, though I liked Jedi Academy more.

They both use the Quake III engine, so there won't be any problems with performance.

However, the weapons (so far) in Elite Force just can't match the lightsaber. Plus, there are no force powers :darth:

I love force powers cuz i like 2 choke stormtroopers 2 death.

Once upon a time, I argued fiercely that videogames do not influence kids. Thank you for ruining that obviously misguided assumption :haha: :p

LOL might as well try Star Wars Lego Edition then :p

Why didn't I think of that!
What a game!!! To anyone who has never played this and thinks I have lost the plot, do yourselves a favour, but this, rent it, steal it I don't care, this game is possibly the best star wars game there is and it's suitable for all ages(unless you can't stomach the sight of pieces of lego breaking apart). :grinthumb It really is an inexplicably good game.

I liked playing the demo in stores, but that lego game is just too slow for me. Maybe you have to have someone playing with you in order for it to be fun.

Also, it's just about impossible to fail in that game. Whatever you do, you can't seem to die or fail the mission.

    A little weird for me.

As for force powers in Jedi Academy, force Grip and Drain are my favorites. Sure, you can win any fight really easily by grabbing someone and flinging them off a cliff, but drain is where the real fun is. You get close, grab them, and suck the life out of them.

The lightsaber has got to be the coolest weapon in any FPS I've played. It's just so versatile. Of all the styles, I'd have to say I'm best at single saber. Sure, you get better defense with two sabers and better offense with a double bladed saber, but for flexibility, nothing beats the single blade. I can't say I've mastered it, but I can beat the bots at the highest difficulty (not bosses, they cheat :()

I have lego star wars, and i like it, and yes you can fail at it. When u die, u lose 1000 lego studs. Drop 2 0 after collectiong studs, then its game over.

I like Fable as a fun but short game. It is kind of interesting to play. It is X-Box and I dont know if it is available on the PC. I think it is. Look for Fable -- The Lost Chapters. It is a kind of slasher game first person.

Lately I played this game demo and I think it is good by my weak Video card lagged once in a while:

    http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/rise-fall-civilizations-at-war/

It is like a civilization type of game but it is also a first person war game. Each side has a hero and the hero mode lets you play as the leader. It is really good for tactics as a civilization type of game. The Skirmish mode I found challenging when you play the computer. You might find a download somewhere for free.

There are some game download sites that might be nice. Often they have trials where you can try something out.

I also liked Halo and Halo 2. You might find used copies of Halo. It is an interesting games where the superchief kills the aliens. It can be a team player game over the Internet.

My daughter is really into Kingdom Hearts 2 but I think that is strictly PS2.

I think all-except for Kingdom Hearts(which im never going to play)-are rated 'm'. I tried begging my parents to let me have Halo, but any rated 'm' to them is bad. Here is a list of games I like to play, along with system specs, and games I already have:

    Games I like to play:

    Space battle
    First Preson Shooter
    Some strategy games

    NOT
    Turn-based
    GTA games

    System specs:
    Intel Celeron 2.60GHz processor
    300w PSU
PNY Verto GeForce FX5500 128 MB DDR Dual VGA PCI
RAM: 768 MB RAM, 765 MB available (might borrow a stick of RAM from my brother)
O/S: Windows XP Home Edition SP1(how do i get sp2 without killin my graphix drivers?)
    CD-RW 48x(i think its damaged)
    80 GB HDD NTFS format
    DVD-R 16x(not damaged)

thats all there is. Thank you guys for recommendations! :)

I thought fable was rated teen?

The only thing left is racing games and role playing games and games like sports or the sims.

There are some other games like Earth 2050 Mission to the moon, which I have played where the idea is to destroy buildings and attack vehicles mainly. You have to build your base and go on missions and it is kind of interesting. It is a bit old though. Most new games are either role playing or some kind of game like The Everquest Series. I dont know if everquest is turn based or not, but it is role playing and people play it online. Everquest 2 is out.

I guess you are left with pong and Miss pack man.

It is sad that most games are based on killing things.

The Myst Series were interactive games where you walk around and try to solve puzzles. They were mildly intersting.

I was really looking along the lines of: space battle, first person shooter

I like the battlefield games(not like battlefield 2, etc., more like battlefield 1942) I also like star wars, Age of empires, command and conquer: generals.

Charles_Hammond, no offesnse, but your role in this thread does not help. Please stop posting in this thread.

I listed the only Rated "T" for Teen first person games that are worth a hill of beans already sw. They were, once again:
    Army Men:Sarge's War
    Close Combat:First to Fight
Medal of Honor:Allied Assault*** Gotta have, true classic
    SPLAT Magazine: Renegade Paintball

MOH:AA is a true classic and if you liked Battlefield 1942, this is similar but a one-player, first person game with tons of really fun, awesome missions and great gameplay. The one-player scenario is much, much more fun than BF 1942 and really rocks.

Bummer the folks wont go with Halo. It's space-aged, battle (with vehicles and stuff and mounted guns) and first person action. It's really non-violent as the enemies are closer to Disney Characters, make silly "Wahoo!" sounds and only spew a little green or blue "goo" like you'd see on a Casper cartoon or something.

If you can find a used version of Crimson Skies, it's more like a Space Battle game, rated T for Teen. It's a futuristic dogfight game with really cool ships. If you saw the movie Sky Captain with Leo Decaprio and Angelina Jolie- it touches on the same "historical time but with really cool futuristic edge" thing to it. There is a free demo you can download and play if you want to try it at:
    http://www.microsoft.com/Games/crimsonskies/

Also, it may be hard to find, but BattlezoneII will likely be right up your alley. It's both- space shooter AND first person.. also rated E for Everyone:
    http://www.games.net/pc/104294/index.shtml

You switch between tanks, hovercraft and other flying vehicles.. can also hop out and run around on foot. Lots of missions.. great game.

I'm downloading Crimson Skies trial, and I'll see how good it is. I have a question. Is it possible we could stay a little bit more in the limits of star wars games? 'm a big fan, so I want to be able to play it all well. :)

Most of the star wars games i've played sucked. You mostly road around with a lightsabre cutting people up. THE GREATEST MMORPG EVER MADE (in my opinion) is Lineage 2. You can buy the game or download it. It is pay-to-play sadly BUT, people host private servers which you can download the client and edit a file to connect to them.
  18. sw123 Newcomer, in training Posts: 752

OK...but im trying not to get a game that is pay to play, so none of that. Also, I like cutting down ppl with a lightsaber and all, but sometimes i limit myself to guns. Lets just try single player games with some multiplayer support(NOT MMORPG). Also, I cannot play crimson skies because it requires an AGP card, and I only have PCI. I tried selecting the only option, computer merely restarted on me. Do you think I could play star wars galaxies?

Have u played Star Wars: Starfighter and Star Wars: Republic Commando yet? The latter is one of the most amazing Star Wars games I've played. Also try
    The Tony Hawk series
The Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth (1 & 2)
    The Matrix: Path of Neo
King Kong: Official Game of the Movie
    Ultimate Spider-Man
    X-Men Legends (1 & 2)
    Juiced
    Psychonauts
The original Call of Duty & its expansion packs
    Medal Of Honour: Pacific Assault
    Worms 3 & 4
Oh, and I think Galaxies should work fine on ur system.

I was skimming through this, and i saw you liked C&C and FPS, so why not try out C&C Renegade? That game was amazing, you could find that thing for like a $1 in some places.
