You are missing out on the motive behind this. This new 2D logo can be put anywhere for advertisement purposes. Look at Android's! You can print that on a rats *** and it would still be recognisable. :)

I did like the old one better though...

The old one looked like a tit.
  8. What an "improvement"! (note the sarcasm...)

This is what happens when the Google graphics designers get a pay cut.
  9. Another Vote for the old one!
  10. NOOOOO. the old logo is farrrrr better. all they should do is remove the square panels on the bottom left and it will be fine

Huge step back. It looks like very first sketch of idea but not a final product. In one word- logo is spoiled.
  14. The new one isn't clean - it's just plain compared to the awesome 3D one.
That's it! Google made me a sad panda for the last time - I'm installing IE9 =/
  15. I have been seeing things in design blogs lately saying that 3-D is passè. I don't agree with that opinion, but it seems like there must have been something in between the extremely shiny 3-D old one, and the very flat and dull new one. I don't care for it.
  16. Anyone want to tell me why Google is still calling this browser "chrome"? The old one actually fits that description and looks better.
  17. the application is however is a very good procedure of a model and theory the new model looks firm but the older one however looks more modern the it like sent a critical hit to my brain to see this typical theory.

I like the old logo better... looks more robotic and stuff. The new logo looks more like a colorful CD. :)
