hard disk incognito problem

  1. I have 1 HDD on my computer,and only one partition.Everything is in order but I decided to format my disk and to make more partitions.My OS is winxp pro,so I entered the setup winxp but when I hit enter after welcome screen I got the error message: Setup did not detect any hard disk installed on your computer....and you know the rest because I saw some similar posts on this page.I have ASUS A8V DELUXE motherboard,MAXTOR 6Y080M0 SCSI(80GB,7200rpm SATA)HDD,AMD ATHLON 64bit 3200+,ATI RADEON 9600 256MB,512MB DDR 400,INTEGRATED REALTEK AC97 AUDIO....enough information:)So I give up and I exit the setup,and I am begging someone to help me.What should I do???

    Do you have a floppy disk with the SATA drivers on it? You may need to load drivers when you run XP setup. You press F6 when you see the message when you boot from the XP CD.
