    Hi all,
I hope you can help me solve the following problem as I am in danger of tearing out whats left of my hair.
I have a Toshiba DVD rom SD-r1002 DVD/CDR Drive, it appears to function great when reading anything. But try and write anything to a cd and it does not happen.
I am using Nero 6 Ultra Edition

If anyone can help please do.

    thanx

I think it's probably time for a new drive. It happens. They are inexpensive, especially if you only want to replace it with the same type of combo drive. In addition, a newer combo drive will give you better performance. Technically yours is a little old. On the other hand, upgrading to a DVD RW doesn't cost much more and gives you added capability.

You didnt post much usuful info so let me ask a few questions.

    1. does Nero Info tool recognize your drive?

    2. are you sure that when you go to write that nero is using your drive and it is not set instead on "image recorder"?

    3. have you been able to use this drive to burn with nero before?
