I've been searching through loads of motherboards lately and have absolutely no idea on which one to get , i lack the knowledge when it comes to this sort of thing , could anyone suggest a medium/high end one that would run with this hardware ?

-AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 2.2GHz Socket 939
-GeForce FX 5900 128MB (pixelview)
-GeIL 1GB (2x512MB) Ultra Platinum CL2 DDR400 Dual Channel kit

Thanks for the replys and suggestions , Over the weekend i was bad ;) and bought a new gfx card (geforce 6800 ultra) which may not run on the mb's mentioned above ?

im still not sure but i narrowed my selection down to these boards :

Abit AV8 K8T800PRO S939 SATA RAID GBLAN ATX -$241
Microstar K8N SLI Platinum nForce4 SLI Socket 939 SB Live! 7.1ch -$297
Microstar K8N Diamond nForce4 SLI -$350

Just so you know this is in newzealand $ , so the prices is alot different to the usa :)

would one go for the , Microstar K8N SLI Platinum nForce4 ?

I have the Abit AV8 3rdEye, basically the same board, with some extra frills.
If you go for that, make sure it has a sticker on the box, saying it is compatible with 90nm Winchester drives. This means it has BIOS version 17 or higher.
To run it, you'll need a good PSU of minimum 465Watt.
If you bought the nVidia card in PCI-E/SLI, you can't use it, as the Abit board supports only AGP.
