I just created a HJT log to put in here.But, somehow I flubbed up. Here I go again.
My PC is running really really slow.Iv'e checked everything I know how to check.I'm a PC user, not a PC fixer. Oh yea Malwarebytes Log found nothing. I posted a HJT Log in Software and Apps. because they have helped me with problems in the past. But, so far no one has looked at it. This looks more like the place to put HJT logs so here comes one Would someone please look at it for me, and tell me if it shows whats wrong with my computer? Thank you

HJT is a very outdated tool and it's not even compatible with your 64-bit system, so I'm removing it from your post.

A couple things before we start. The instructions say if I'm using my PC for banking I should re format.Is that the same as bringing my computer back to factory settings? If so, after I'm done should I download and install everything just as it was before the reformat? Or, just, maybe the anti malware Anti virus and TS. If so please be patient. Like I said before my computer is slow, and I mean Slooooooow'
So doing this might take awhile Will not start anything until I hear from you. CB.

I can't comment until I see what's going on there.

I can't get started until I know for sure that re -formating is the same as taking my computer back to factory settings? If I do have to bring it back to FS Do I follow instructions right away? Or do I re-install everything that's on my desk top first? Even though I have On Line Banking.I would rather just start following the instructions without re-formatting. But that's up to you CB

If you don't want to reformat and lose all your data please post all required logs.

Sorry I'm being such a bother. Just trying to make sure I follow instructions . With that in mind I am going to re-format. but I'm only going to reload TS so I can continue to get instructions. Then I will re-load everything after my PC is clean. Or do I have to re-load them all before I start following instructions?
CB

Do nothing but just run prescribed tools.
We have no idea if you're even infected.

Go on.......

Ran into an (I"m a dummy) snag installed GEMR dont know how to save it to Desktop..So I ran a scan Boxes that were checked while scan was running were Services, Registry, Files, C/, and Ads. Results were GMER hasen't found any Ststem Modifications. I'll wait until I hear from you before I go on to next step. By the way Avast scan was clean.

Sorry about that. I just noticed if I would have used zip I could have saved it to desktop.( why the heck doesn't it just say to use zip instead of giving me a choice?) Before I start I have ( all free) Avast Malwarebytes, Superantespyware,Spywareblaster, SpybotS&D and CCleaner. The only one running in real time is Avast Right? So it's the onl;y one I have to disable before I run the Gemr scan again right?? I'll wait for further instructions CB,

That's right.
Go on...

Some How I messed up.Downloaded GMER using zip dragged and dropped it to my desk top So I could be sure it opened on my desktop. Disconnected from internet, Turned Avast off . Started scan. when scan finished I clicked Copy, Save, O.K.. then I reconnected to the Internet, and Turned Avast back on. OOPs my brain is starting to get fuzzy. I'm Diabetic,and Ive been paying more attention to the PC than I have been to myself. For now suffice it to say I could not create a Iog. but I did get GMEC didn';t find any system modifications. Gotta eat be back.

Broni I give up.. Except for the MWB log None of my results have turned out as per instructions. The DDS by sUBs not downloading was the last straw. I give up. I'm truly sorry for wasting your time. I'm just going to wait until tomorrow. Take my computer back to factory settings..Re-install my Avast.Then. Starting with my Malware protections Re-install everything one at a time. Hopefully this way I might find whats slowing down my PC. CB.

After I Xed out of TS Opened it up again Dragged and dropped DDS by sUBs to my desktop,and was able to download DDS by sUBs
instructions . Thought maybe I would ask if I could change my mind and keep trying to following instructions. But. I, couldn't get it to start creating the logs So I'm still giving up. Once again Thanks CB.

Please download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.

**Note: In the event you already have Combofix, this is a new version that I need you to download. It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**
  1. Please, never rename Combofix unless instructed.
  2. Close any open browsers.
  3. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
    • Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before performing a scan. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
    • Click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.
    NOTE1. If Combofix asks you to install Recovery Console, please allow it.
    NOTE 2. If Combofix asks you to update the program, always do so.
    • Close any open browsers.
    • WARNING: Combofix will disconnect your machine from the Internet as soon as it starts
    • Please do not attempt to re-connect your machine back to the Internet until Combofix has completely finished.
    • If there is no internet connection after running Combofix, then restart your computer to restore back your connection.
  4. Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
  5. When finished, it will produce a report for you.
  6. Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt"
**Note 1: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall
**Note 2 for AVG users: ComboFix will not run until AVG is uninstalled as a protective measure against the anti-virus. This is because AVG "falsely" detects ComboFix (or its embedded files) as a threat and may remove them resulting in the tool not working correctly which in turn can cause "unpredictable results". Since AVG cannot be effectively disabled before running ComboFix, the author recommends you to uninstall AVG first.
Use AppRemover to uninstall it: https://www.techspot.com/downloads/5514-appremover.html
We can reinstall it when we're done with CF.
**Note 3: If you receive an error "Illegal operation attempted on a registery key that has been marked for deletion", restart computer to fix the issue.

Make sure, you re-enable your security programs, when you're done with Combofix.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NOTE.
If, for some reason, Combofix refuses to run, try one of the following:
1. Run Combofix from Safe Mode.
2. Delete Combofix file, download fresh one, but rename combofix.exe to yourname.exe BEFORE saving it to your desktop.
Do NOT run it yet.
Please download and run the below tool named Rkill (courtesy of BleepingComputer.com) which may help allow other programs to run.
There are 4 different versions. If one of them won't run then download and try to run the other one.
Vista and Win7 users need to right click Rkill and choose Run as Administrator
You only need to get one of these to run, not all of them. You may get warnings from your antivirus about this tool, ignore them or shutdown your antivirus.
Rkill.com
Rkill.scr
Rkill.exe
  • Double-click on the Rkill desktop icon to run the tool.
  • If using Vista or Windows 7 right-click on it and choose Run As Administrator.
  • A black DOS box will briefly flash and then disappear. This is normal and indicates the tool ran successfully.
  • If not, delete the file, then download and use the one provided in Link 2.
  • If it does not work, repeat the process and attempt to use one of the remaining links until the tool runs.
  • Do not reboot until instructed.
  • If the tool does not run from any of the links provided, please let me know.
Once you've gotten one of them to run, immediately run your_name.exe by double clicking on it.
If normal mode still doesn't work, run BOTH tools from safe mode.
In case #2, please post BOTH logs, rKill and Combofix.
DO NOT make any other changes to your computer (like installing programs, using other cleaning tools, etc.), until it's officially declared clean!!!
Log too long
Thanks for not giving up on me .when I gave up on myself combofix log was easy mostly a lot of waiting.Problem Log is too big.I need to split it in half But I click on edit choose select all from the dropdown menu, and everything turns blue
There must be a way to turn the top half blue send it then do the same with the bottom..Ray
Upload the file(s) here: http://www.filedropper.com/
Post download link (copy URL: link):
How do I upload log intoHttp://www.filer=dropper? do I just copy and paste the log into the file? going to eat supper be back half hour or so CB
Go to FileDropper, click on green "Upload file" square and navigate to Combofix log location (C:\combofix.txt)
Broni; In post #19 you showed me what to do to send you my log In post#21 you showed me how to do it.. I feel so dumb.. Uploading the log into file dropper I'm sure, is a simple process. But, even though you showed me how . I still can't do it.I don't have a clue. Unlike last time I'm not giving up.. I'm just stuck. This is probably a dumb question, and I don't know if I could do it
even if it was possible. Is there any way I could use Cut, or the snipping tool to cut the log so I could copy and past each half toTS?
Broni I answered post 23 2 hrs, or more ago. Heres my answer again...Yes I did find combo fix in drive"C" But, there was no "txt"on the end. I have put combofix "txt" as an icon onmy desk. Log is gone again.I think from all the times my computer has restarted while up dates were being installed .So I will just do it tomorrow.No problem doesn't take that long.Let me know as soon as you need me to create it again I'll check here often
