At first i would like to thank you hpgl. I wasted a week time to find this pw. You made me very HAPPY, your pw worked just fine. And my name is not shrag. It's about music:)

Yes hpgl is great at providing these only free passwords for HP only

Wow I would suggest that no one ever needs to pay HP, as hpgl always does it free (for selected users it seems ;))

That's fantastic that it's free free free, Oh  no ones been approached to pay I hope :( Now that would be bad

So you had 1 HP and 2 Dells and you also decided to edit out one of your posts
And you are in some business selling gaming stuff or something?
    Am I right so far?

Really as stated above (and below now ;)) try Dell support as first option

actually I am an electronics broker and i have about 200 hp's with the same hash. I also have a customer who had 2 dells that I sold him that I didn't realize that they were bios locked. So to answer your question no I'm not selling gaming equipment. But I don't like going through dell or hp because they charge for the service and i rarely get an agent that can speak good english. So I am requesting the help of HPGL since he helped me with the last request. And as far as the edit on my last post, i accidentally changed it, thinking i was making a new post, and since i didn't remember what i wrote i tried to just delete and make a new one but it said i had to have a minimum number of characters, so i just put in a bunch of #'s. Does that answer all of your questions. And i still need assistance on those 2 dells if anyone can help me, and when i mean help I don't mean responding with a link to dell. I know how to contact dell, if they provided me with an answer I wouldn't be on this forum. Thanks!

But don't worry because I'm very smart, and thorough ;)
I'll keep checking the thread for spammers, but I laugh when they reply to themselves :D

Oh and in case I forgot to post this: (which I do on every post in slightly different format ;)

how do you mean "bios locked"? if it was just being unable to change settings inside the bios you can remove the password yourself by changing/removing the service tag.
if it is the grey screen... you guess you already read what that means and its your choice to wait for ever or to pay for it - no matter if it is dell or any other guy with the keygen.

is the D830 pretty much a lost cause people?

and I realized the blinking caps key issue was due to an improperly seated ram module.

    hi

I have taken the advice here and used the change of ownership form, it let me submit it with an unknown previous owner but i am curious as to how long it normally takes to transfer, and do you get written/email/telephone confirmation of the transfer?

I have my nice shiney D430 paperweight and dont want to ring dell and look stupid if the transfer will take a week or something!!

    thanks
    Pete

    Dell Master Password help, AGAIN

I am new to this forum and I am told you would be the one I need to post to. I am no good at beging an I really need to now. So I will give it my best. I purchased a Laptop off the net and was told after it was sent to me ( no refunds ) that the password was lost. I tried to contact Dell but was told that I needed the previous owners info. I contacted the company and was told that since it was a trade in they are not able to find owner info ( to many customer ). I would like to know what I could do to request your help.

So I'm curious, since changing the service tag works for reseting the eeprom where the bios setup password is, as far as Dells go, is there a way to do the same thing with an hp. Like a DSTCD for hp's?

My reply does not offer you password help, but you might want to consider it anyway.
Note... I am not a lawyer and my comments should not be taken as legal advice.
I am only outlining a strategy I might try to follow if I were in your shoes.

    1. Under the circumstances, I would suggest you file a complaint with the venue where you purchased the laptop (Ebay?). I f I understand you , it sounds like it was NOT sold by its original owner, and the person who sold it to you did so deceptively (at several levels). This is fraud, and can be prosecuted.

    2. If you think this may be a stolen laptop, you may want to contact the police department of the city where the seller lives... The laptop serial # may be reported and listed as stolen...

    3. Upon re-reading your note, it appears that you may have bought it from a business... If I were you, I would recontact them and let them know that you are ready to take legal action, for fraud, and that you intend to contact the Better Business Bureau and Police Departments of their community. Receipt of stolen property (what the "store" may have done) is one crime. Fraudulent sales are another. They will not want to deal with these kinds of charges.

    4. If you have an attorney friend, ask them to send a letter on your behalf. I bet you will get your money back in short order. If you do not have an attorney friend, you may want to employ one, especially if your purchase $ was greater than three or four hundred dollars. Spending $100 bucks +/- to recover your money, might be a good investment. Some attorneys will give a little free time to evaluate your case... and perhaps then only charge for the letter. Your mileage may vary.

    Good luck.
