    Unlock6

Not just those platforms, but give it a shot with other machines too that will give you a 5-digit error code. Like I said above it worked with the "uncrackable" Dell Inspiron 1000 that I was working on.

    Dell latitude D620 master password

    Hi guys,

I have this problem with a Dell latitude D620 that I don't know the master password and i can't reinstall my operating system.
I did read everything here but it didn't work for me because:
I have tried booting the cd that was on one post but I cannot change the boot sequence and removing the HDD will not help, also I don't have an extra HDD to make that one bootable.

Also all the other executables don't work because I have a service tag ending in 595B.
I have tried calling dell support but since I don't have an invoice (proof of buying) they will not help me.

My last hope would be if one of you guys could provide me with this password.
My service tag is : 64F6W2J-595B

    Thank you so much.

    Hi

your stuffed then, get your hand in your pocket and buy a cheap 500meg HDD for it and use the bootable harddrive procedure on my site, once run it will remove the passwords in the BIOS and allow you to change your boot order.

If you wait round here for a password to be given to you, well lets say your going to be waiting a long time...

    Regards

hey everyone just joined this forum:D

was lookin for help with my D531, i need to get into the bios and its password protected i was given this as a present from a friend who has forgotten the password :(

i was readin through the posts in the Jan-Mar 2008 section and noticed a post by Paragon33 he said this:

"The D531 uses a 25 series EEProm Chip and can not be cleared by eeprom shorting. You need a guy with a Master Password generator for the 595B systems and they all charge fees, except for rustam, who uses this forum for free help, but not often, and not for very recent systems."
i have already tried shorting the EEPROM with no results as Paragon33 has said, does anybody know how to get in contact with this Rustam guy??

e.g. like an email address or contact?

    any help would be good

    thank you

Has anyone has any luck with the Inspiron B120?

Anyone ever tried a program called PC CMOS Cleaner or a dell_bios_boot.iso that can be found on the net; the latter claims to be the exact thing Dell uses when they unlock their BIOS.

Why don't you buy something like this and make the HDD bootable that way?

    dell_bios_boot.iso (size ~ 2meg)
    Removes svctag not bios password

The first one has only 1 comment, and that's in a different language <- so I'd say, not exactly safe
The second one has a disclaimer that says:
*****s! <- Would you really give them your money?

Dell is still the best option (even if denied service through them)

Dell have informed me that there may be up to one months delay in cases where the proof of ownership identity is in concern.
    1 Month ? And only $36 ? <= I'd say Dell wins again

Note: If you can prove ownership, the delay is about 24Hrs (ie about a day!)
  11. kimsland Ex-TechSpotter Posts: 18,353

No I don't work for Dell
And if I did, I would have had the generator by now

So you ended up choosing the most expensive of the two($75 against $60)
How strange, Do you work at the lollipop one?

Why you just didn't go through Dell is very strange
I'd like to go over what I've stated (50 times here, on different threads)
Dell will help, even if you are not the registered owner (I know, I know, they're really good)
Anyway, a non registered owner, may need to wait for approx 1 month (I'll have to re-confirm the exact days again)
Then that's it. Laptop will be given the password.

but I think you know, now he has all details.
Your name and adress and through the service tag the real owner of this machine.

so never give the service tag to someone who is not your friend ;-)

Actually this thread is not intended to locate the cheapest 3rd party, password removal company.
Ideally this thread is intended for viewers of the forum to locate a free alternative
Or at least, advice on what to do (ie Paperclip method or Dell registered)
There are, in fact, stacks of private enterprises out there doing this

I also have an enabled admin password on a dell latitude c640 that I cannot unlock? It also has the 595B end system number? Help....Went to Dell, they gave me some useless regenerated code that didn't work.

can you unlock dell phoenix bios?
  18. kimsland Ex-TechSpotter Posts: 18,353

    :)
That comment doesn't make sense

Go back to Dell and get the correct code
Obviously it was mis-quoted or something

Anyway glad you can use and get the code from them, you're ok

    Who?
Oh that old member (now gone!)
I believe he changed usernames here on the forum (a couple of times)
But, I'm not aware if he still helps here.

The closest match now, would be hpgl (as he has helped others recently)
Otherwise it's Dell support, or the Paperclip proceedure

you can unlock it by yourself, visit

thank you for clearing that up for me :D

ive already tried the paperclip method on my d531, but the EEPROM is a 25 series is it not and they can resist the shorting method :( :(

anyone know how to get in contact with Hpgl??

    thank you
