Needs bios password for a Toshiba Satellite A15-S1292. I don't think there's any codes, like dell code "d595" etc.. Its just ask for password when turned on.

Thank in adavance.

Greetings everyone, I have come here in search of the magical guru who can help me unlock my new (to me) Dell Inspiron 640m. Since I got it at a pawn shop I was wary of calling dell in case it was ever stolen, but when I finally gave-in and called they informed me that since the warranty is up I have to pay to even speak to tech support, and even then, it's some kind of business support with limited hours.

I tore her apart to try the paperclip method, but now I read that the new 25 series IC is resistant (and my poor eyesight couldn't identify the right chip anyway, lol) If anyone can please assist me, I will appreciate it forever.

Thanks in advance!

Your best bet is to call HP and get the backdoor password from them.

You will need:
Product number:
Serial number: TW21300550

You can also check your Warranty status here:

Basically I'm wanting to know if this is a free service? (But I don't own a Hp to confirm this). Please let me know the outcome :)

Hi, kimsland: what a clever guru you are. I'm impressed how can you waste a minute of your life answering that way.
I'm not doing anything illegal: the laptop belongs to my family, HP ask for a proof of purchase, which we don't have, and yes, ask for money also, 40 €. I'm asking here for help, and only got your crappy answer.
And here is your feedback: in less than 12 hours, paying only 11€, I got the unlock key, and I'm already working with the laptop.
Bye, guys.

At least I spent time on your issue and gave you an answer
What other replies have you had again? Oh yeah None!

As for your 11€, incredible, by the way I have read that Hp provide users with Master keys, I'll have to re-confirm with them, how much it is, and what users need to do exactly

I doubt what somebody here will help you in your commercial relations with your customer. Let him go to dell to remove password without hardware interventions

Hello, I hope to get some help here I have tried everything from calling Dell to checking every forum I have found so here we go again I have a customer with a Dell Inspiron B130 I refuse to remove or even short the EEPROM chip on the motherboard is there any other way to get around this password? I have tried every backdoor password and in every possible configuration there is and cannot get past this! Please if you have any suggestions I would appreciate it.

Thanks Kristina.

Thats why I am here they have tried going through Dell and of course they were not helpfull, they paid Dell around fifty dollars and the problem was not fix and that is why they brought it to me. As I have stated before we have tried everything I just don't want to waste my time to call Dell again to get the same answer. So hopefully I will get some help through here.

I understand, you prefer to waste time of other members.
You do not explained why Dell unable to fix trouble on well known laptop. You do not post service tag, may be it stolen so you try to hide all tracks and details.

I am sorry if I cam off as a theif but infact I do run a computer store and will got to the extreme for my customers if they ask if you want the service tag here it is
10L6191 The reason for me being on here is that I do not know why Dell could not fix the problem or maybe they did and the owner made the same mistake but I do know I do not want to charge them fo the samething they have already done themselves if that makes any sense. I do apoligize if I came off wrong I am not here to waste anytime but to solve a matter that I have.
Thank You Kristina

I can't see any reason why Dell unable to fix that problem. Sound suspicious for me.
I suppose he ask dell about password and dell told to him about finished warranty and he have to pay money to extend warranty. Then customer got angry and decide to find solution for free. :)

I don't really know what happened I just know what I was asked to do and so now I am tring to do it trust me it will not be free but I don't want to have to pay Dell and find out that what they did won't work and have to charge double for the solution I would have no problem going through Dell myself if the could prove to me that their solution will fix the problem before I give out credit card information. I am not very Dell friendly if you know what I mean. My shop is full of Dells every day and to be frank their customer service sucks!

tell me what is messages on the screen of laptop. What exact service your customer got from dell, may be they provided master password (i think they denied without money). If your customer payed money to dell, why warranty still not extended?
I know dell support sucks and in some countries they absent at all. But in your case I believe you can try to ask dell again to make clear this situation.
I may to generate master password from service tag, but I wonder why dell may be helpless in such issue. So I will wait.

The message is a gray and white screen asking for a system or admin password to acess data on PC I have tried every password they gave to me in every conf possible but still no result. I am not sure what Dell told them just know what they told me and that is Dell had tham enter a couple of different codes of course they did not write them down anyway I guess either they didnt work or like I said before maybe they did and they messed it up again I do not know but it also is not my place to accuse either. So I am lost with the assumption Dell did not help and I do not know the password if I con not crack this by tomarrow I am going to have to tell my customer that I cannot repair it do to the extent of time I have put into this one PC I need to movew on so if you know how to get passed it or know someonr who does I would really appreciate it. The customer is a college student and it is registered under her father that I have verified by Dell so I know it is not stolen and I would not work on it if it was.
Thank You Kristina

By the way Dell also told me before I was going to be charge for this service that there is no master password and that they do not put any passwords in their computers. That is what is differing me from using Dell myself.

I asked you about exact message on the password screen.
Is it bios locked or hdd locked.

Latitude D600 admin password removal

Hi to everyone,
Nice to be here. I have read many of the postings on removing the admin password on Dell's in general. I work for a refurbisher and I have 23 D600's that I cannot process because there's this admin password in the BIOS. The company that owned them doesn't know the pw either.

I've tried the latitude.exe method and it does generate a password for the given service tag # but it doesn't work to clear the pw. I've tried killcmos (which has worked in the past on older pc's) but that didn't work either. Does anyone have any other ideas short of replacing the system boards?? I suppose scrapping the units is another option.

Thanks in advance,

BBB

Hello!! Need BIOS Password for Dell Latitude D630!! Help!!

Hello all!! This is my first post ever, wonder if someone can help a brutha out with a BIOS password?!? Usually I'm the family/church computer guru, but I'm stumped. Nephew asked me to see if I could boot his girlfriend's laptop (don't know where she got it from), and I get a white and grey screen. Reading this thread, I'm hopefully providing the correct information?? Here goes: Service Tag 33MGGF1, Service Code: 6749464861. Have spent almost 3 weeks, every day trying to be a hero and bombing out horribly. Thanx for reading, and any help is greatly appreciated!!

for the last 3 posts:

read through the thread and be aware that the best way is to contact the dell support first. even if others tell different, they are supportive and they will give you help. you may have to prove ownership or claime it.
other methods would be to buy a password from ebay or any site mentioned in this thread or to use the shorting method which is available for 'older' models only (e.g. d600)

use a different hdd and you will be fine. thats cheaper than waiting for or buying a password. if your bios setup is still locked go download the dst-cd and reset the service tag. this will unlock the setup as well.
