Urgent question! my friend kevin who has tought me alot about how to build a PC is moving to Arizona. He said he is getting a new PC there and asked if I wanted his for $400. It is like follows
Amd Athlon 3000+ (not 64)
1GB PC3200
160GB hd
Gigabyte mobo
Also it has an Fx 5200 in it. If I bought it I would replace it. Would this be a good purchase? I was thinking about another pc for when friends come over I could own them in halo

Concidering the componants that you want are in the same ball park price wish your better off with the route you have chosen.....Speaking of PSU's I have a Enermax Whisper 460w laying around I could sell ya for $50 ?

Well yeah that would not be a bad price for that PC if you INTENDED on using it for a second machine in your LAN setup.....Definatly cooler when somone goes into you gaming room and see's 2 well equiped systems sitting there...Or "Yeah thats my spare"

Go to a lan party and be like "Ya I am so good i'll own you while playing two people since I am so good. Whats that? you only have 512Mb of RAM? I only have 2 computers with 1GB each HaHA!"

Nah, i am only running 1 Mbps. It runs alright but not great. I have run 3 computers playing halo at same time tho.

I said i would replace the 5200. it is a great budget card but i spent more and got my mid range card that i am very happy with
