Or, does anyone know how to find out the answer to this. I want to know for gamnig purposes. I'm trying to install Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None, and it gets to about 80% installed and then stops. Looking at the requirements, this is the only thing I can think of that might be a problem. Any advice? Thx.

There are very few games that actually require a soundcard and the installer would most certainly tell you if it didn't find the needed hardware.

Try some basic things like disabling any antivirus programs, copying the CD contents to the hard drive and installing from there, installing in safe mode.
