[Solved] MBR/Rootkit on Vista and I can't get rid of it

    Thanks again for everything. We're on to other problems, hardware in this case. At the end of this process (and I'm glad it was at the end), we had a keyboard failure requiring replacement. Three keys (the "r", "4" and "5") stopped working. After disassembling all the keys to try and clean it, we saw that it was a sealed unit and was impossible to clean. Fortunately, Dell has a refurb keyboard for the machine for $25 and we should be back in business as soon as it arrives.
