  1. That is probably a "marketing" statement. I maybe the few, but PC FPS is still the one for me.

Why no FPS on the console for me...two reasons:

    1. I hated Bungie cause I waited up to 3hrs at E3 to watch their Halo intro only to learn later they turn it into a Console :-(

    2. I can't...ever...get used to those controller.

Now, if they can make Kinect to work right on FPS and get a 60"+ screen, then maybe........

    nah...probably not, haha.

i'm getting a kinect so i can step on it...

the guy obviously has no idea what he's talking about, like most microsoft employees for that matter. the steam community, while not quite as big as XBL, is massive now and most of the games on there are FPS. if that's "hardly anyone" than seriously how many people are signed up for XBL? 3 trillion?

For me racing games etc work great on a console (with the controller)
FPS is just wrong, so imprecise and slow movement, it really does not work for me
He may well be right when looking at total sales numbers tho

And that really makes me sad, because these companies care nothing for the people anymore, it's all about how much money they can milk out of a franchise, nothing else :(

A PC hooked up with a wheel and pedal is awesome for racing games.

Pretty damning but factual indeed, but don't worry, there is a spot of light at the end of the tunnel ...... don't buy consoles ;) ...... well on a more serious note I haven't found one compelling reason to buy one so far, gaming on PC is just more 'precise and fun' period.

Guess who has two thumbs and isn't buying kinect?
  9. It's amazing how companies can buy people and make them puppets. Valve, DICE, and ID are all laughing so hard right now I bet.

Without having actual figures of all console FPS and PC FPS games being played online, my guess would be that PC has more players playing than consoles do. That statement is ludicrous to say the least. With full Xbox 360 support in GFW games that use a gamepad, there is no reason to buy a console when my PC is way more powerful.

Whatever happened to that news article about PC gamers killing XBL crowd on those cross-platform games..

A foolish comment to say the least. Oh microsoft how you make a fool of yourself. Like mashing a turd on your face and expecting us all to take you seriously while preaching world destruction

PC gamers annihilated console gamers in closed test. hahahah

The proposal, part of Microsoft’s LIVE push, popped up “many many months ago”, and would have allowed people playing games available on both PC and 360 – like Gears of War – to take each other on. Kind of like 2007 shooter Shadowrun, only people would actually play it.

Problems quickly arose in testing, however, when Microsoft found that even the best console gamers simply couldn’t compete with the accuracy a mouse and keyboard afforded a PC player. “The console players got destroyed every time”, Sood says. “So much so that it would be embarrassing to the XBOX team in general had Microsoft launched this initiative.”

xbox live = something like 2-300k users on at any given time
steam = 1-2.6 million users at any given time
PC has WAY more FPS titles than console and many more years of FPS games

im willing to bet the numbers comparison for pc fps gamers at any time vs console fps gamers at any time is RIDICULOUSLY in favor of PC.

Open mouth. Insert Foot. Rinse. Repeat...

PC, It Only Does Everything. Oh wait or is that the other console?

Anyway, anyone who thinks consoles are the way to play FPS games should be shot, anyone who thinks playing by flailing around like an ***** is the way to play a FPS is in the same boat. Mouse, Keyboard, PERIOD...

Pong, Colecovision, ADAM Family PC, PS1, and now Wii (got that from the wife)
Frankly I prefer the just as Colecvision did for ADAM to beef up the console game to PC arcade level. You need PC experience, plus who the heck going to shell out for Xbox 360 Elite and PS3, shoot you can get a quad core and better graphic for less than what you have pay for those systems.
