Microsoft: hardly anyone plays first person shooters on the PC

I think what he meant to say was "hardly anyone pays for first person shooters on the PC anymore". Which is probably why all these companies are trying to make up excuses to try and get out of the PC gaming market. All kidding aside this is a ridiculous statement. All my friends who play FPS games still use PC's. Some play on consoles occasionally, but the controllers just aren't precise enough. Keyboard and mouse still beats a controller for shooters when it comes to speed and accuracy...

You know the amusing thing it that every tech website has now headlined the word Kinect. Makes you wonder if that might have been the reason behind for what he said.

I have been pc gaming since 1986, FPS's and Flight simulators, and stategy, ive played cod:waw on a wii and was horrible i'll stick to the pc. It is downright criminal what happened to the good flightsims, consoles are worthless for flightsims and they dont make any for the good ones ie., janes longbow2 , for the pc.

hardly FPS on PCs? is this ****ing ***** stupid or just has down syndrome he can't help? FPS are MEANT FOR PC. Mouse + keyboard is how you shoot, not with analog fag stick. Its impossible to actually shoot and aim propertly with xbox / ps3 controller.

real skill is from mouse+keyboard. until those things are placed into every new xbox 720 and PS4, PC FPS will always be better.

Well, He's not really looking at the Big Picture. Halo is what? played by almost all FPS gamers all over the world? Even Counter Strike is played by many in some countries who never even played Halo. Here in the Philippines for Example, never had an official Halo Tournament, its just not popular. Thats why almost FPS Tournaments are PC-Based.

I've Tried Halo, its good but doesnt really amazed me. and besides, its real awkward for me to play FPS not holding on to a Keyboard and a Mouse.

That to say, at least, that PC-FPS gaming is sure to stay and will be good for the majority depending on their Influences. Saying "hardly anyone plays FPS on PC" is a big overstatement, its like saying, in 5 years, FPS will all be console based.

Bollocks. Consoles have ruined FPS'ers for a whole generation of young people who will probably never understand how good a FPS can be.

I bough a consol for one main reason, to fet my kids off of my computer! So when I get home I can play my games, surf the net, program, etc...

As far as games go, FPS are not the only game in town and many play RTS games like Civ. This article is little more than a press peice to drum up sales for their new controller.

I own a X360 and A Casual GAming PC (for casual I mean HD 4850 Asus Mobo and 3Gb Ram 1066)
AND SERIUSLY!!! the only reason for stil having my X360 , is that I get it BEFOR MY PC, And I put it o the living room so my lil brother dont touch my PC.

That Statement is hell out of place, i understand that he maybe think that because their platform "GAMES FOR WINDOWS" just did´nt get place on PC´s.. You know the funny thin about that.!! i can play PC game without a logitec keyboard, or mice, i can play game with my built in audio, a mid range Mobo+mid Phenom CPU+Mid or even as low as HD 4850, with your default old SATA HDD you got enough power to play bettern than the console, and cost the same!!
and you got all the thing you can do with that PC including Gamin for the same price of a high price Butget performace console..!! AND MORE TALKING ABOUT THE 360...----- IT LAGS!! ON SOME PART OF SOME GAMES!!! ITS!! FREAKING ANOYING!!!

Ironically, Microsoft is deterring gaming on THEIR operating system (most of PC gaming is on Windows). Am I the only one who finds this funny.

This guy should be in politics. Microsoft bought Bungee to have a great game to release with their new console. Halo was originally going to be a PC game. PC gamers were looking forward to it's release forever...until Microsoft jumped in an bought the company. Just in case anyone forgot.

To RACE you need a WHEEL and PEDALS. To RACE you need a PC with the extras. Sure race online with console, great, race with a game-pad. Sheesh good luck holding your line. Racing on the PC with wheel and pedals is far superior to anything a console can offer. AS IS FPS WITH A MOUSE ON PC. This tool is a piece for making the comments he did. RIDICULOUS.
