    Hi lookinaround.

    im having a pretty similar issue to all the rest. ive read alot of forums, uninstalled and reinstalled drivers. ive downloaded 2 different drivers from real tek, 1 from emachines, uninstalled current drivers and reinstalled those.
    and nothing seems to be working.

    please could you see if you are (or someone) is able to help me out.

    i have attached dxdiag document for your reference.

    thanks

    Hi brett747

    A few things.
    1. List any Problem Devices
    • Make sure devices are connected and powered on
    • Click Start->Run, enter: msinfo32. Click the + sign next to Components to expand it
    • Click Problem Devices. Anything appear?
    • If yes, click on it, Ctrl-A to select all, Ctrl-C to copy it, Ctrl-V to paste into next post
    • On the other hand, if no devices are listed, tell me so

    2. You're running 64-bit Windows. You need to run 64 bit dxdiag. See HERE for how to run it for 64 bit

    3. If you open Device Manager and look under Sound category. do you see any "High Definition" Audio devices listed? (i.e. the words "High Definition" would be included as part of the device name) Do they have yellow icons or not? (yellow icon means there's a driver error on the device)

    /* edit */
    I tried looking on the emachine support site for your model but I only see bluetooth driver listed on their site :confused: Don't know if that means emachines thinks the generic W7 audio driver should work for your eME730 cuz obviously they're not working :confused: :(

    /* edit2 */
    >> Did you say you downloaded an audio driver on the emachine site? i didn't see one listed for your model?

    ahoy.

    i got it sorted out. I went into services and clicked start on the windows audio. i then got an error 1068. (windows audio was not started nor on automatic) after doing a bit of research, i went clicked on the windows audio and went into 'dependencies'. there were 3 items listed there, one of which was 'multimedia class scheduler'. I went to check these devices in the list and saw multimedia class scheduler was not active (nor on automatic) i started that up, then went and started up the windows audio, and, voila. it worked. so the sound is back up and running again. thanks for your response.

    That's your onboard graphics adapter from Intel. If you also need to find the Intel graphics card driver try Intel Driver Update Utility

    Looks like you're missing many drivers. You have Dell Latitude D800. right? If you go to www.dell.com/support and click Drivers and Downloads. You can enter your service tag (or let Dell find it for you) to get the full list of possible drivers. But here's some some download links to help as there many drivers on Dell site to choose from

    Do have a network connection? As it looks like neither your Ethernet and Wireless card drivers are installed. Use a USB flash drive to download and save these drivers on flash then plug into D800 to install.

    > Start with the Intel Mobile chipset drivers first
    > Then Broadcom-Driver for the Ethernet card

    You should now be able to connect to the network via cable and download without the flash drive
    > For audio, the Sigmatel-Driver
    > You need the Texas Instrument chipset drivers for you memory card

    You can start with those.. then another Problem Device report
