The conclusions in this review are laughable and make it look like NVidia are paying you guys off.

At bare minimum, we should expect a 30% improvement in cost per frame over a previous gen. Die shrinks and decreased RAM costs along with the crash of crypto/mining should more than cover any “inflation”. The card itself may be fine, but accepting stagnant or increasing price per frame numbers from last 70 series cards as a good value is a complete joke.

Heres 2nd try. Gynsc does nothing for low fps. Every gysnc monitor has a lower limit that gysnc stop working at its usually in the 30-40fps range depending on model. Once the fps dips below thst range gsync stops working and LFC kicks in. Btw the LFC technology is available with freesync too and is free from licensing fees.

Seriously you don't sound brand agnostic at all. Just the opposite.

He's talking about the module and he's right. You're talking about compatibility via drivers (Freesync, Gsync compatible).

I'll do some magic for you and compare RTX 3080, with $699 launch price, to MSI 4070 Ti's $840. There's no founders edition for 4070 Ti, as mentioned in the article. You can do the math here. But if you compare midline products to halo products, there's no way to justify this debate.

7900 XT at 899 is DOA, but the 4070Ti being slower (7 or so%), cheats with fake frames generation, cost 100 less (11%) than the 7900 XT, yet is not DOA?

None of these GPU are worth this much. But worse part is, the only reason for that comment is because you wont dare to say straight up that nvidia is taking us and the whole industry for a ride with that price.

4070 should cost tops 400 and a Ti should be 450.

Same for the stupidly named 7900 XT, that GPU is really a 7800 XT.

I get it, in the influencers eyes, nvidia simply doesnt do anything wrong.

And even at that it would be a stretch for Joe Public. Not to worry, they'll soon find out when they can't sell them

Good luck finding one @ $799

I can walk into my local Micro Center and pick up one for $799. My local store is sitting on 180+ 4070 Ti cards right now and out of those 180+ at least 30 of them are priced at $799.

The store has been sitting on 8 of the RTX 4080 cards for the past week or more, too. The only cards that aren't making it to the shelves are the RX 7900XTX and RTX 4090. These cards are being picked up the mornings they're received in off the truck. No one is lining up for the 7900XT or 4080 or 4070Ti.

People are looking to upgrade, but they're looking to upgrade to the best (4090 or 7900XTX). The performance gains going from the 4080 to 4090 is very noticeable and even the almost 20% performance gains going from the 7900XT to XTX, people are okay paying for the higher priced top-end cards.

All the cards out this gen are horribly overpriced, but people seem to be okay with paying top dollar for the top-end cards and they're mostly avoiding anything else that has come out. If anyone wants these overpriced cards, most are pretty easy to obtain at normal retail pricing.

But you actually pay the difference in the price. So, new model you get more, and you pay more.
It's new, but it is not progress.

I paid my 3070 499 USD. And it is 62% slower than 4070 Ti (at least in 4k raster).
But you also need to pay that much more money (or more as there is nothing at MSRP, at least where I live). I would understand 599 USD. Things do cost more these days. That would be around 20% more, but you would get even more in performance, so we could call it a progress.

As it is, they are just another class of GPUs on the very high end and priced that way.

4nm is not a whole new process and 192bit bus is not something new. Plus, smaller die size means less defects. Chip production cost increase does not justify this price increse by itself. 11 phased VRM was already used in 3070, is not new either. You can cover for Nvidia all you want, there's no justifying this price bump.

Nobody cares about that when the 4070 Ti stomps the 3080. People want frame rates and nothing more.

No one says it's a bad performer, it's overpriced, it's what it is. It stomps your pocket
