In safe mode with restore point turned off, I ran

adaware
search and destroy
Microsoft antispyware

But no matter what I do, search and destroy finds 5 DSO exploits.

That is what i was thinking... some kind of DCOM exploit..

You mentioned that you just reinstalled within the week.

have you done win security updates. there were a few that addressed DCOM exploits specifically.

as for your HJT log i cant really help there.

As far as I'm aware (unless they've fixed it), there was a bug in spybot where It detected DSO exploits where there were none.

What are the DSO entries you are seeing?

Your log is OK.
Thse exploits are only valid for Internet Explorer.
STOP using that crap IE and get Firefox instead!

I never use IE unless it is a page that will not load on firefox.
