problem with download.com and ie

I have discovered that I am unable to open www.download.com in my ie. IE generates an error message and closes. I have changed my privicy settings to allow cookies from www.download.com. This does not help. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Yeah, you are using IE, THAT is wrong!
go to www.getfirefox.com

You've probably got a corrupt plugin. Go to your internet options, click "settings" in the temporary internet files section, then click "view objects" in the new window. Delete anything here that offends you or looks at you funny.
Then close all those windows and try again.
